Oh...
Angela...!!!
Yes?
Did you know?
Know what?
Did you look?
Look at what?
Do I have something
in my teeth?
Did you notice
anything a little bit
DIFFERENT
about our blog
lately?
Hmmm, it's
always filled with your
awesomeness.
Come on...
I can't stand it...
you have to KNOW
what's going on...
Then tell me!
stop grading papers...
Occupational hazard.
stop making lesson plans...
People don't plan to fail,
they fail to plan.
stop running your kids
around to all
of their activities...
Uh, that's my reality for
AT LEAST
6 more years.
#truth
leave the mac and cheese on the counter...
It never makes it to the counter.
My 6'5 gentle giant
eats.
it.
all.
just for a minute...
Who has a minute to spare these days?
I promise
you'll like what
you'll see...
hhmmmm.....
go look
at our blog stats
my blogging friend!
BRB
Do you see it?
Sure did!
Did you notice all those zeros?
I know right?!
There are over a million page views
on our blog.
Oh.
my.
word!!
Woot-Woot!
WOOT WOOT!!
Since I have gone
a little bit nutty over here,
"gone"?
Girl, you dun gone
nutty YEARS ago!
(love you)
dancing around the house
in my pajamas.
And there's your sign...
King Common Sense
asked me what that means
EXACTLY.
Well.
nothing.
Apparently it means something
TO YOU
so that's all that matters right?
It means absolutely
nothing.
...other than it makes me
Hap-Hap-HAPPY!
Exactly!
:)
It makes me so happy,
I made a 1,000,000 place value
activity for my kiddos to do!
Of course you did.
Because THAT's how you roll.
Never, ever an off button!
My students took
the numbers needed to make
1,000,000
and created them
into a work of art
that says:
My Artwork Is Worth A Million!
Then they cut, and glued
the place value label
under each number
that creates
1,000,000
and wrote about what they
changed each place value number into
in order to create their artwork.
SUPER CUTE!
I gave them 3 different sizes
of the 1,000,000
so that they could choose the
size that worked best for
their art work.
Gotta love options.
I was hoping that some
of the kids would make
the numbers into a caterpillar,
or a train, or turn it sideways
or upside down when
making their place value artwork.
Maybe even someone would
think about cutting out the
numbers and have a more
abstract way of looking at
a million....
But it was THEIR art....
so I stayed out of it.
As a good teacher should.
Get out of their way
and let them show you
what they can do.
It was actually a great
activity for them to do
while I worked frantically
putting our science boards
together for the Science Fair,
and working with
my presenters
two at a time.
No pressure.
Yikes!
If you have never had to
make Science Boards for
your school's Science Fair
consider yourself lucky.
I think that is all
I will say about that.
#truethat
I'm thinking that
this would be great for a sub day.
My students were seriously
engaged in creating art
and learning place value
for a good 90 minutes to 2 hours.
WOW!!!
This is a flash freebie
for all our
million page view readers!
If you missed it...so sorry!

--excuse me
while I slide across
my hallway floor
in my socks
and Golden Boy
(my 16 year old)
just shakes his head.
Again, his Momma
done lost her mind!
